How do we install our cabling
To lower the impact on the environment we prefer to install our cables on the facade just like Proximus, Telenet and Fluvius.
Is it allowed to put this cable against my facade?
De telecomwet van 1991 voorziet een voorziening beter gekend als “gevelrecht” dit wil zeggen dat nutsvoorzieningen vrijblijvend en kosteloos steun mogen aannemen op gevels die tegen de rooilijn aansluiten. Dit wil zeggen dat Hermes Telecom door een simpele melding gebruik mag maken van alle gevels die aansluiten tegen de rooilijn. Indien je toch wenst dat er ondergronds je huis gepasseerd zal worden dient de eigenaar van het pand een wachtbuis te voorzien ondergronds op eigen rekening.
Are there any costs associated with this installation?
The installation of the fiber optic cable is completely free during the works.
Do I have to be present at the time of installation?
The installation concerns work against the facades, you do not have to be present for this. How does the installation work? Our installations are executed using aerial platforms in a mobile construction site. The nuisance will be limited to a maximum of 2 hours per house. We aim to complete the installation against the facade within the hour. For installation, we fix the cable to the facade at the same location as existing cables or at a location as out of sight as possible. If there is a usable empty conduit, we will use it.
I will be doing work on my facade soon
When work is being done on the facade, it is best to contact construction@hermes-telecom.net by email and we will look together at a solution for the existing cables. If it concerns painting work, you can simply paint over our cable. During demolition work on the facade, a conduit must be provided and after notification we will move the cable through the installed conduit. Creating a span is also an option.

How much are the installation costs?
The activation cost for internet is 50 euro, in case you do not have a compatible modem you can purchase one from us for 99 euro.
How does prepaid internet work?
You pay (at least) one month in advance, if you dont pay your internet will be suspended.
Which modems are compatible?
You can use a Fritzbox (oa 7530, 7430, 7360) also a B-box 3 or O-box 3 (Attention: If you are not using a Fritzbox you need to configure your modem manually).
I own a FRITZBox, how do I configure it?
To configure a FRITZBox which was not purchased trough Hermes Telecom you need to execute the following steps:
